Samuel Joseph Agnon 1888 – 1970
La vie et l’œuvre de Samuel Joseph Agnon, le seul prix Nobel de littérature israélien.
Emouna Yaron, la fille de Samuel Joseph Agnon, nous emmène dans un voyage dans le temps, sur les traces de son père né en Galicie orientale en 1888, où son enfance et son adolescence seront baignées dans la tradition et la foi juive.
Impliqué dans le mouvement sioniste, il immigre en Palestine, sous l’occupation turque en 1908, et fait partie des pionniers de la deuxième Alia.
Il quitte la Palestine en 1912. Pour enrichir ses connaissances, il séjournera en Allemagne jusqu’en 1924, date à laquelle il retourne à Jérusalem où il restera jusqu’au jour de sa mort, le 17 février 1970. Il sera le témoin de l’histoire du peuple juif de ce siècle qu’il décrira dans une œuvre unique comportant plus de 25 volumes, des centaines de nouvelles, romans et autres contes pour lesquels il a reçu le prix Nobel de littérature en 1966.

Emouna Yaron, his daughter, invites us to go back in time to find the roots of her father, born in Eastern Galicia in 1888, where he learnt Jewish traditions and faith.
He took part of the zionist movement and immigrate into Palestine in 1908, when the country was under the Turkish occupation. He was one of the pioneers of the second Alia. He left Palestine in 1912. To enrich his knowledge, he staid in Germany until 1924, then he came back to Jerusalem where he will stay until his death, the 17th February of 1970. He will be the witness of the Jewish history of this century, that he will describe in an unique works made up by 25 books, with one hundred short stories, novels, and other tales for which he was given the Nobel’s Price of Literature in 1966.
